Why I’m starting a 30 Day Cooking Challenge

Hello,

My name is Lillian and I am a self proclaimed foodie, who just happens to be a passionate home cook and baker. A month and a half ago, I graduated from University and started working full-time at a B2B tech company. My dream is to be a part-time lawyer, part-time bakery owner. Oh, and I hope to run my own small scale dairy farm that specializes in artisanal cheese one day.

My drive is often a double edged sword, because I cannot bear to be strikingly average at anything. Lately, I’ve felt average at everything. In the next year or so, I’m taking off some time to work prior to going to law school. In this time, I’d love to go to pastry school (but don’t tell my parents), disappear to Europe for a bit, and work in a professional bakery.

Those may sound like far off (and slightly mad) hopes and dreams, but I’m starting this blog so I can make this a reality. I hate those overtly positive, and bleak motivational statements…but small steps really do make the difference. After all, I have to start from somewhere.

To kickstart this blog, I’m going to be spending one hour a day to document one of my home-cooked meals, or baked goods for 30 days. I’ll experiment, document- and take you along the journey of bettering both my cooking, and my writing habits.

So let us eat. Metaphorically I mean (for you at least).
